DEMI was originally going to be a minor NPC, but fans loved her SO MUCH because of her appealing design and Bordeaux Black’s voice acting that she was promoted to a major character. A rare example of this happening BEFORE the product was released.While continued supporters of the game are willing to give this all a pass due to Subverse still being in early access, many detractors are already voicing both their disappointment and bafflement in how this is apparently the best StudioFow could offer despite having around 2 years of development time and a 1.6 million dollar budget. Primary due to the mediocre execution of both the SHMUP and turn-based combat systems, the juvenile humor that makes up 90% of the plot and character interactions, the Pandora gallery system essentially locking all H-Scenes behind an artificial grind wall, and the fact those very same H-Scenes are actually nothing more than 3-5 second looped gifs with little to no actual gameplay interaction. Upon it's public release, reaction to Subverse has been incredibly divisive for a myriad of reasons.This debacle split Subverse's fanbase with renewed debate on a whole host of hot-button topics. After receiving significant backlash for collaborating with him, Studio Fow apologized on their official discord while claiming they were not aware of Arch's history.only to then retract their apology later, saying the apology was hasty and that the game was meant to be apolitical.

Arch is a highly controversial figure within the Warhammer Community due to outspokenness on his (also controversial) political views and derogatory remarks that are still under fire to this day. During its development phase, Studio FOW reached out to a YouTuber named Arch (formerly known as Arch-Warhammer) to help promote Subverse by doing an exclusive gameplay reveal/preview.While it might be an unsurprising stance to be in a H-game, and a sci-fi one at that, it’s still rather on-the-nose. One character (Lily) even drops the phrase “Scripture-thumping” (derived from the real-life anti-Christian slurs “Bible-thumping/Bible-thumper') when talking about the Imperium’s religion, and another character summons a literal demon to aid in the fight against them. Characters repeatedly talk about religion inspiring bloodshed/ harm/”bad shit” (Senator Erark, Newsanchor Zanderson.), and any character who says something not negative about religion is either idealistically naïve (Celestina) or evil (Kasidora, Azzorion…). The main villains are the Senu Council of Nine due to their violent devotion to, and exploitation of, their austere religion, the Veil. Anvilicious: The game swings the anti-religion anvil around more than a bit.PAGES WILL BE DELETED OTHERWISE IF THEY ARE MISSING BASIC MARKUP. DON'T MAKE PAGES MANUALLY UNLESS A TEMPLATE IS BROKEN, AND REPORT IT THAT IS THE CASE. THIS SHOULD BE WORKING NOW, REPORT ANY ISSUES TO Janna2000, SelfCloak or RRabbit42. The Trope workshop specific templates can then be removed and it will be regarded as a regular trope page after being moved to the Main namespace. All new trope pages will be made with the 'Trope Workshop' found on the 'Troper Tools' menu and worked on until they have at least three examples.Pages that don't do this will be subject to deletion, with or without explanation. All new pages should use the preloadable templates feature on the edit page to add the appropriate basic page markup.

All images MUST now have proper attribution, those who neglect to assign at least the 'fair use' licensing to an image may have it deleted.

Failure to do so may result in deletion of contributions and blocks of users who refuse to learn to do so.
